Freddie Ljungberg compares Liverpool’s dribble-king to Lionel Messi; huge praise – Not Mo Salah

 

Freddie Ljungberg was impressed by the Liverpool man’s talent, comparing him to none other than Lionel Messi after his latest appearance.

The 46-year-old said of Viaplay: “He’s got really good legs. This is similar to Messi’s inside-out movement and shows Elliott dribbling and very technical against a confused opponent.

This is certainly high praise for our number 19 and a reward for the effort he puts into his shots and his huge improvement this season has been noted.

Harvey Elliott is establishing himself as an impact player who can step up and change the game when we need him. The win against Crystal Palace and securing a moment of triumph further reinforced his belief that he should start more games.

The decision ultimately rests with Jurgen Klopp, but competition in midfield means starting spots are never easy for the Reds.

It is up to the Reds’ young players to continue to impress when called upon and turn games like the Europa League into opportunities to show why they should be starting more often.
