The Premier League title race is heating up right now. With 14 games left until the end of the season, it could be anyone’s race to win at this stage. All three of Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool are looking like they could go all the way.
But of course the favourites will always be Manchester City. Pep Guardiola’s side simply have experience on their side. They’ve been there and done. They’ve pipped both Liverpool and Arsenal to league titles in previous seasons. City, quite frankly, know how to get the job done.
The New World Cup Format Is Absolutely Insane
After them, telling the difference between Liverpool and Arsenal is quite difficult. Liverpool do have a bit more experience on their sides. However, both teams are quite young. And in games between the two teams Arsenal have gotten them better of the Reds in the Premier League at least.
Now Gary Neville has been speaking about which team he thinks is better.
Speaking on the Gary Neville podcast, Neville revealed that he thought Arsenal were better than Liverpool right now. He also added that he thinks the Gunners are the closest to Manchester City at the moment.
“I’m really interested in them because I think they are the team which are closest to City,” Neville said.
“Liverpool are right up there and they have a great manager but I think Arsenal, when I watch them, I feel they are the better team – that’s not to say they will go on and win the league or finish above Liverpool but I think they have got it within themselves.”
Take Neville’s words with a pinch of salt. He’s probably basing his opinion on Liverpool’s defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates. But that game is not an accurate reflection of the quality between both sides. Liverpool were simply not at the levels they normally are, and were missing a lot of key players.
The reality is that right now Liverpool are still above Arsenal and have lost just twice in the league – Arsenal have lost double the amount of games with four in total. Even on that metric alone – it’s obvious who the better team is.
