Antonio, who is already not a popular figure at Anfield after earlier on in the season he declared that he thought his side, West Ham, would finish above Liverpool, is once again back making strong statements about the Reds.

Speaking on the BBC’s The Player Channel podcast, Antonio revealed he did not want Liverpool to win the league title this season. His reason why is because of the club’s supporters, who are apparently still in his inbox about the comments he made earlier this season.

“I don’t want Liverpool to win the league. Because you Liverpool fans are still in my inbox. Get lost! I’m saying it with chest. I don’t want Liverpool to win the league! Come for me! Arsenal get it. Man City, get it. That’s all I have to say about that!” Antonio said.

Antonio is becoming a pantomime villain esque figure for Liverpool at this point. His latest comments clearly have an element of banter involved, and doesn’t really deserve that much attention.

What matters far more is what happens on the pitch, and Antonio will want to forget about his last appearance against Liverpool back in December when his side was utterly annihilated.

His latest comments are just yet more motivation for Jurgen Klopp’s men for when Liverpool face West Ham next.
