The NBA world is buzzing again, and this time it is all focused on Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Milwaukee Bucks star has been surrounded by trade rumors, and one former Los Angeles Lakers champion is now pushing for him to land in LA. After Giannis suffered a scary calf injury on Wednesday, former Lakers center Dwight Howard jumped on social media and sent a message that quickly went viral.
Howard told Giannis to slow down and recover, hinting that he wants the two time MVP to join the Lakers, who already have LeBron James and Luka Doncic leading the charge. “Aye Giannis dont go trying to play on that calf strain just take your time and get back right Lake Show need you !” Howard wrote on X.
He followed it with another post, hyping up a possible superstar trio: “Giannis, Luka, and Bron,” he followed with a bunch of emojis.
A move like that would instantly shake the entire league. Adding Giannis to a squad with LeBron and Luka would create one of the most stacked teams in NBA history. Earlier, Giannis and his agent Alex Saratsis have started talks with the Bucks about his long term future. They are weighing the option of staying in Milwaukee or looking for a new situation. A decision is expected in the coming weeks.
Right now, the Bucks are in trouble. They sit at 9-13, outside the play in zone in the East. Even with the team struggling, Giannis continues to put up elite numbers. He is averaging 30.6 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 6.4 assists per game, proving he is still one of the best players in the league.
