Super League threatens to rear its head again. Two and a half years ago, a number of elite clubs threatened the very fabric of football by creating a revolutionary league. This means that sport is no longer a level playing field for everyone. Fortunately, after much protest and backlash, all six English clubs involved in the lawsuit withdrew, as did other European teams. However, this week’s EU court decision has put the Super League idea back on the table and many are starting to worry again about the formation of this new competition.

But this does not mean that their positions are different. Now, speaking on the Athletic Football podcast, James Pearce has shared what he knows about the Reds’ position in Super League and was told on Thursday morning that the club’s position remains unchanged.
