How Al Etifaq fans see Steven Gerrard as a Liverpool legend after two months without a win

Steven Gerrard has been criticized by fans at Al-Ettifaq Park after the Saudi Arabian Professional League club went without a win for two months. Saudi Arabia may not be the smooth and successful adventure Gerrard was hoping for as he tries to rebuild his managerial career after a painful spell at Aston Villa.

Gerrard won just 13 of his 40 games in charge of the Midlands club as Unai Emery guided the Villans to their current title under Emery. After leaving Villa, Gerrard took the easy way to the Middle East and made some money, dumping former Liverpool team-mate Jordan Henderson and his Anfield replacement Georginio Wijnaldum.

Gerrard is currently on a two-month winless run at Al-Ettifaq, with just one win since September. The former England captain’s job could be in serious jeopardy while the Saudi Arabian Professional League is on a month-and-a-half break, meaning Al Etifaq may not be able to return to form until February 15.
The board will then have to make a big decision on whether they still think Gerrard is the right person for the job.

Gerrard finds it difficult to poll the fans’ opinions of his abilities. “We all know why the team is underperforming and the management lacks ambition,” one supporter wrote on social media. Another wrote: “Sorry boss but you can’t leave.”A third Al-Ettifaq fan said: “How can a losing coach who doesn’t know how to train check when and how many times the last team won with him?”What do you think of Steven Gerrard as a manager?
