Think Wataru Endo after Liverpool’s win last weekend. The Japan international may have thought he would be the hero of the day after scoring Manchester United’s late equalizer on Sunday.
However, he was overtaken by Trent Alexander-Arnold just before the end of the game.
Endo will of course be delighted with the win, but his first fantastic goal for the club is now nothing more than an afterthought after three excellent goals from Alexander-Arnold and Alexis McAllister.
Leroy Rosenior spoke about Endo’s goal in an interview with Premier League Productions on Sunday, saying he felt a bit bad for the man who robbed him of £16million.
Sympathy for Endo
Rosenior shared his sympathy for the midfielder. “Four great goals, a typical Liverpool performance, but you know, I feel sorry for Endo.
How could his goal be?
He scored his first goal for the club and it wasn’t even the best of the four.” “Some of those goals were unbelievable,” Rosenior said.
Frustrating
We’re sure Endo doesn’t sleep much, but it’s annoying that his moment of glory lasted two minutes. Trent Alexander-Arnold grabbed all the headlines with his winner, but we got nothing on Endo and what it took to score his goal in that moment.
His attack was sublime, many players could not contain themselves in front of a hungry crowd and the defeat came with just minutes remaining.
Let’s hope this moment gives Endo the platform he needs to start now and establish himself as a hero at Liverpool.
