The morning of the abseil I was feeling pretty nervous and so I needed to work up a little bit of courage before I took on the climb, and since it had been a while since I had visited the ground to just take a look around I decided to make a day of it and also take on the Anfield Stadium Tour and club museum.
Going to the game can often mean you’re in a rush to get to your seat and you don’t really get the chance to just look around the ground and take it all in so this was the perfect opportunity to get to grips with Anfield and see how much it has improved over the years. Once I had taken in the sights around the ground, some of which included the many beautiful and impressive murals which adorn the walls around Anfield, the Champions Wall and the Hillsborough Memorial, I embarked on the first part of my day, the tour itself. The tour is simply a must for any LFC fan, die-hard or casual, as getting to walk behind the scenes at Anfield really is an eye opening experience.

Back in the days of sitting in the Main Stand watching Liverpool, I never for a second thought I would one day be standing 100ft high above the city on top of the very same stand ready to abseil down it, but that’s what I did when I recently took on the famous Anfield Abseil.
