Ian Wright says many people don’t realize how difficult it is for Mohamed Salah to achieve what he did for Liverpool after scoring last weekend.
Wright was speaking on the Kelly and Wright Show after the Reds’ 2-1 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday. Of course, it was a milestone for Mohamed Salah.
The Egyptian scored after scoring his 200th goal for Liverpool. He accomplished this feat in just 327 games.
Ian Wright was impressed by Mohamed Salah’s performance. With people far more qualified than this writer putting together Liverpool’s number 11, everyone is saying Salah should be in the conversation. But they still might not get what they deserve.
Ian Wright says many people don’t fully understand what a monumental achievement the 31-year-old has achieved. “I don’t think people realize how hard it is to keep doing what he does, especially with the great defending and the goals he scores and the way he plays.
I watched the game yesterday and during the game he was quiet for a while . . But at some point it came out in front. That’s what’s happening in Liverpool at the moment,” he told The Kelly and Wrighty Show.
The Liverpool star still has plenty to offer Klopp. It should also be remembered that Salah has never played as a striker for Liverpool. Instead, he mainly played on the right side of Jurgen Klopp’s side.
What’s worse is that there are few signs that Salah is currently close to ending his career on a very high note. This season he scored 11 goals in the first league.
So far, Salah has appeared in three Premier League games without scoring a goal or assisting.
However, Wright believes some still don’t give Salah enough credit for what he has achieved for Liverpool so far. It will be interesting to see what he does with the rest of his time on Merseyside.
