‘I’m a Liverpool boy’: Manchester United target defines who will play For

 

Ivan Toney, £10m strikerBrentford striker Ivan Toni has revealed he wants to play for Liverpool despite increased interest from PL rivals Manchester United.

Manchester United’s rivals Manchester United can’t afford it this time. The Red Devils are currently 8th in the PL standings and are not looking very promising.

The club have made a number of signings this summer, but they have yet to prove effective. One of Old Trafford’s summer signings was Rasmus Hoylund and he had to settle for a clean sheet.

However, his contribution was very small. Anthony Martial’s frequent injuries and inconsistent performances have shown that Manchester still needs a solid striker.

The England striker has been suspended for gambling offences. Tony said on the CEO Diary podcast, via The Mirror:

“Everybody wants to play in the treetops. Everyone wants to play for these big clubs and compete for trophies. If an opportunity presents itself, you’d be a fool not to see it.

My next club will be the right club. I’ve been a Liverpool fan all my life. I have loved Arsenal since I was little, the way they play and how passionate their fans are. But I’m a Liverpool fan, I’m a Liverpool fan.

“His ban expires in January 2024 and his contract with Brentford expires in the summer of 2024. The 27-year-old is one of England’s ninth best players in recent times. His scoring ability is undeniable.

His declaration that he prefers the Anfield giants therefore means he will not be able to extend his contract with the Bees beyond 2025.

However, as Liverpool have many world-class strikers, it is not clear if they will recruit this striker. But adding another great player wouldn’t be a bad idea.
