Virgil van Dijk was “chubby” that Liverpool conceded a point against Arsenal on Saturday but enjoyed being involved in such a close contest.
Mohamed Salah’s 29th-minute winner leveled the game at Anfield 1-1 and denied Egypt’s Gabriel Gabriel an opener. Both teams came out looking for the win and had chances to take advantage, but the victory ended in a tight battle between the Premier League’s top two sides.

How does it feel to score a goal in a game?
It was disappointing, but it was a great game, a great game. Arsenal are obviously a very good team but I think we had the chance to win the game and unfortunately we didn’t.
I think it’s difficult for both sides and we’ll move on. One point more than we started with is definitely a positive.
Was Liverpool our best chance?
I think it would be difficult to analyze here. But yeah, where I hit the bar is definitely in my mind, maybe. But I think this is always going to be a very competitive game and it has been.
Are Arsenal expected to ‘push Liverpool to the limit this season’?
They also expect consistency and I think they’ve done a pretty good job since last year. We are doing very well this year and hopefully we can continue to improve. Let’s take a look at where we are in February and March. Hopefully at that stage we can really move forward.
