Harvey Elliott scored a stunning goal for England Under-21s as Cody Gakpo and Virgil van Dijk qualified for Euro 2024 against the Netherlands on Saturday.
Gakpo and van Dijk both played for Holland against Ireland in Amsterdam, where Caoimhin Kelleher was not used.
Vout Weghorst’s early goal was enough to separate the sides and secure a result that confirmed Holland’s place at next year’s tournament.
Elliott led the Young Lions to a 3-0 win over Serbia in a European U-21 Championship qualifier.
The Liverpool midfielder picked up the ball about 25 yards from goal and sent a clinical effort into the bottom right corner.
Elliott played the entire game for Bekah Topola, while loanees Tyler Morton and Jarrell Quansah came off the bench in the second half.
At U19 level, Calum Scanlon starred for England in a 3-2 win over Japan in the second of three games in Marbella.
Scanlon came on as a substitute after the hour and Jamie Donley scored the winning goal in the last minute.
