Harvey Elliott scored a stunning goal for England U21s in a 3-0 win over Northern Ireland on Tuesday.
After debutant Tyler Morton opened the scoring for the Young Lions in a European Under-21 Championship qualifier, Elliott added another goal in the second half with a low finish from a curling free-kick.
Jarell Quansah started and finished the game at Goodison Park.
Elsewhere, Cody Gakpo got on the scoresheet as the Netherlands hammered Gibraltar 6-0 in their Euro 2024 qualifier. A striker was brought on in the 77th minute of the first half to quickly complete the scoring and Virgil van Dijk played in the first half.
Caoimhin Kelleher played another 45 minutes in the friendly between Ireland and New Zealand which ended 1-1. Ben Doak converted a penalty towards the end of Scotland U21’s goalless draw with Hungary.
A day earlier, in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, Wataru Endo captained Japan for 83 minutes in their 5-0 win over Syria, while Calum Scanlon helped England Under-19s beat Mexico with 7-0.1 and helped them win the Marbella Cup. .
