Liverpool great John Barnes spoke to us about recent comments from Chris Sutton, who claims that Mohamed Salah is Liverpool’s greatest-ever player. He disagrees saying that Kenny Daglish and Steven Gerrard are higher on that list currently.
He also states that he believes Gakpo operates in a similar manner to former Anfield favourite Roberto Firmino. Here’s a summary of what he said:
Salah isn’t Liverpool’s greatest ever player Mohamed Salah isn’t Liverpool’s Greatest Ever Player If he stays here for the rest of his career and he guides us to more titles and a Champions League then he can be in consideration.
Right now Kenny Dagliesh and Steven Gerrard are the top two because of their achievements and they had been at the club a long time.
He’s a great player so it’s not an issue and he’s doing a fantastic job. Salah has had to be more creative since Bobby Firmino left the club whereas before he was asked to be the main goal scorer. His role has changed.
He’s assisting more and playing as a team player.”

“Mo Salah will go down in Liverpool history as a legend but i don’t think he’s our greatest ever player.
