Israel-Gaza Tribute by the FA before the England match drew criticism

Gareth Southgate, the manager of England, stated that the Football Association has “tried to make the best decision with good intentions” about memorials to people who have perished in Israel and Gaza.

At Friday’s England vs Australia game, players will don black armbands, and there will be a moment of silence to honor “the innocent victims of the devastating events in Israel and Palestine.”

The FA has decided against using the Israeli flag’s colors to illuminate the Wembley arch.

Lucy Frazer, the secretary of state for culture, media, and sport, referred to the decision as “extremely disappointing.”

The Palestinian militant group Hamas carried out a series of strikes in Israel last week that resulted in the deaths of over 1,200 people.

Following its airstrikes over Gaza, Israel has restricted the region’s access to gasoline, food, water, and medical supplies.

338,000 people have been displaced and over 1,300 individuals have died in Gaza as a result of those strikes.
