Mikel Arteta’s Gunners, Jurgen Klopp’s Reds and Pep Guardiola’s Citizens are fighting in one of the most exciting title races in recent years.

By the time we get to April, it’s not unusual to either see one team racing ahead or, at best, a two-horse race for the coveted trophy.

This year, however, there is just one point separating Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City, with eight match-weeks left to play.

The Gunners returned to the top of the table on Wednesday night following their win over Luton Town.

However, Liverpool – currently second with 67 points from 29 games – can leapfrog Arsenal should they win against Sheffield United on Thursday.

And then you have Manchester City, who also have 67 points but have played 30 matches. They’re at risk of falling behind should the Reds win on Thursday.

Needless to say, the Premier League title race is currently being as hotly discussed as it is being contested by the Gunners, the Reds and the Citizens.

And former Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott doesn’t think his ex-employers have what it takes to get over the line this year.

Who does Joleon Lescott think will win the Premier League title out of Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City?

Speaking on TNT Sports on Wednesday evening, Lescott said he believes that Liverpool will be the victors come the end of the campaign.

“In a sense it’s gone into Liverpool’s hands [after the weekend results],” Lescott said.

“For them to have to lose a game now, not just drop points from a City perspective, I don’t see that.

“I think they have a slightly tougher run-in potentially, but I think they get the job done because they’ve been in a position similar to this before.

“You don’t want Man City chasing you obviously, but overall I believe – and it pains me to say it – Liverpool get the job done.”

If Man City, the reigning champions, win the title this season, they would become the first club in English football history to win four in a row.

Meanwhile, Arsenal would be winning their first title since 2004, in which Arsene Wenger’s ‘Invincibles’ went the whole season without losing a league game.

As for Liverpool, they’d be winning their 20th English title, which would put them on par with Manchester United. And in Jurgen Klopp’s final season too.

The next few weeks will bring so many twists and turns, and there will be moments that will leave fans’ hearts in mouth. Football, eh?
