Ivan Toney is a wanted man in the January transfer market. He has previously made a Liverpool admission. His absence hasn’t exactly swelled his reputation further, but it’s certainly not seemed to do it any harm. Toney, a self-confessed Liverpool supporter, is being considered the solution to multiple teams’ striking woes as transfer speculation mounts ahead of the winter window. Liverpool has no such issues, having started the campaign in prolific form. But Manchester United and Chelsea would both want more goals, among other things. Per the Mirror, Toney is being used in the ‘opposition XI’ in team training, and it could be that he takes up that position on a more permanent basis before long.
Meanwhile, Manchester United could actually look to Chelsea to strengthen another area of the side, although it will need to see off competition from Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich. Here, Liverpool.com takes a scan around the other big sides in the Premier League and around Europe to take a look at the news going on at the other clubs.
Ivan Toney is back in Brentford training. His ban from playing runs until January 16, 2024 — but only time will tell whether his return comes in Bees colors.
