Jack Grealish issues stark warning to Arsenal and Liverpool as Man City run continues

Jack Grealish has warned Manchester City’s rivals their team spirit can carry Pep Guardiola’s side to even more success this season.

Guardiola’s players underlined their status as the best team in the world with last season’s historic Treble haul of the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League. They followed that up by winning the UEFA Super Cup and have the chance to confirm their standing as the best side on the planet in next month’s FIFA Club World Cup.

City sealed their place in the last 16 of the Champions League with two games to spare, courtesy of Tuesday’s comfortable 3-0 win over Young Boys at the Etihad Stadium. England winger Grealish set up Phil Foden for City’s second goal and afterwards praised Guardiola and said the bond and unity among his players is even stronger than last season.

“Guardiola gives us so much,” said Grealish. “In my opinion he’s the best manager in the world. He’s shown that over the years. You can have the best manager in the world, but you also need the team and dressing room to do that.

Jack Grealish makes admission over Man City place after ‘angry’ message from Pep Guardiola
“We have a brilliant team, on the pitch and also off the pitch, we have a team that is so close. We love being with each other and we love playing with each other and that shows on the pitch.

“Before the game, the manager said to me that when we have the ball, we normally go from me to [Mateo] Kovacic to Rodri. But he said when they have the five at the back, hit it to the other side straight away. Instead of going to each player because that takes longer. I got it to Phil straight away to get at the defender one on one and that’s what he did.

“I know what I bring to the team aside from goals and assists. Every attacking player wants to score more. We won 3-0, but on another day we could have got five or six.”
