Gustavo Hamer caused concern for Klopp’s side when full-back Conor Bradley inadvertently steered his header beyond Caoimhin Kelleher. “Once again this season the Liverpool subs make the difference, Klopp has utilised the 5 sub rule better than anyone.”
With the game level, the German made a series of bold changes including the surprise withdrawal of top goalscorer Mohamed Salah, who was replaced by Harvey Elliott on the hour mark, just two minutes after the relegation-threatened side drew level.

But the swaps were inspired as Elliott, Andy Robertson, Gakpo and Curtis Jones made telling contributions to continue Liverpool’s formidable run keeping them top of the Premier League with eight games remaining.
