Think…On his expectations this season…I just wanted a chance to show what I could do in preparation. In fact, I hadn’t even thought about it that far. In football, there is no need to plan the season because anything can happen.

I was ready for every game and every practice I had. I had just finished the summer against England in the U20 World Cup and I thought I did well there, so my confidence went up a lot. I just wanted to perform and get a place.

About your experience sitting on the bench in a previous campaign and what you learned from it…

I think I was ready at that stage, but looking back, I was still a long way from where I needed to be. So, if we had continued, the story would have been different. It means that I have matured in recent years.

So sitting on the couch was an opportunity to take it all in and take it. I was on the bench at Tottenham and when there was noise in the stadium, it was loud. I would like to say that it helped me a lot. When he made his debut against Newcastle United last August…

This is madness. It cannot be explained in words. It’s a great feeling for my family, people I’m proud of and a lot of people who saw me when I was little, took me to half-day practices and did overtime.

So to be able to give back to my family with that love and what they did for me was the best feeling. I think it was the best feeling since my debut. As for him getting used to playing at a high level…Yes, you just have to play what’s in front of you. As long as I can get as much game time and get into a rhythm – I’ll grow because I’m a player that tends to get better the more games I play and the more I get into a rhythm.

I’ll play a few more games and hopefully with some consistency I can perform at the level I want.Handling the ball during a game…I try to play like I played when I was young. I am known as a central defender who always carries the ball. Sometimes he did too much, dribbled too much. I don’t do this anymore! I try to be free and be myself.

I think this is the best way. Because it shows your confidence in yourself.Seeing other players use the Carabao Cup as an opportunity to make a leap forward from the previous season…

I think it’s a good opportunity for young people. This is definitely something to try for me.When they face Bournemouth in the 4th round…

Any team you face at this stage will be a good team. Bournemouth in particular have a lot of smart players. I know a few so I’ve seen their quality over the years and they have a lot of experience. So it will still be a challenge. The remaining goals for this season are…

It’s hard to think ahead. I think if we keep playing, improving, working hard on the training pitch and doing our best to impress, everything will take care of itself. That way you don’t have to think too much about it. If I want a team goal, I want to win all the ongoing trophies.
