Jaden Duns returned from injury as Liverpool U18s lost 4-0 in a friendly against Swansea City on Friday afternoon.
Duns, the team’s top scorer this season, accelerated his recovery by playing the first 45 minutes of the game at Kirkby Academy.
U18s coach Mark Bridge-Wilkinson told Liverpolfc.com after the game: “Swansea are a lot bigger than us and they had three first-year specialists with them and we were young.
“To be fair, they played really well and we made a mistake and they were punished. “It was great to have Dancy back after missing a lot of the last few games.
“It was also a good learning curve for the younger players in our team because things don’t always go our way. So he has to get used to finding his way when things don’t go his way.
“We had two young players injured so there are some positives.”The U18s are back in action next Saturday when they take on Newcastle United in the U18 Premier League Cup.
