Ryan Gravenbirch showed his talent for Liverpool after just an hour in the Merseyside derby.
John Aldridge highlighted a concern for the Dutchman following his summer move to Anfield, but the Reds claimed the lion’s share of the spoils that afternoon. It is the player’s physical strength. “Ryan Gravenburch was the best player on the pitch for the first 25 minutes which was a really positive result.” the former Liverpool player wrote in the Liverpool Echo column.
“His only problem is that he played very little for Bayern last year, which means he is not very ready for games, so he gets tired very quickly. “If enough information is provided about Gravenbirch, it could be a very good buy.”There is a grain of truth to the former striker’s comments as our 21-year-old played just 937 minutes for Bayern in the 2022/2023 season.
A very underrated player from Munich. For context, Gravenbirch has played over a third of his total minutes (347 minutes) for us in the 2023/2024 season and we expect him to surpass the aforementioned total in May. To be completely fair to Thomas Tuchel, Bayern’s form means our latest Dutch signing faces huge competition for a couple of places in the starting line-up.Graven Birch, AldridgeRyan Gravenbirch threw three interceptions, went 5-of-7 on the ground and shot 97 percent.
But based on what we’ve seen this season, it’s no stretch to assume that our recruitment team have done a good deal worth £34.2m. So Aldridge is absolutely right on the money. Wait until it happens soon!
