WHAT HAPPENED?

The result at Anfield means Arsenal, who beat Brentford 2-1 on Saturday to go top of the league, remain at the summit with all three sides having played the same number of games.

There is no doubt that the Italian, and the rest of his Arsenal team-mates, will have watched gleefully as their rivals both squandered two points. With just 10 games of the Premier League season to go, every point is precious.

WHAT JORGINHO SAID

Posting on X, just five minutes after the full-time whistle confirmed a 1-1 draw between Liverpool and City at Anfield, Jorginho said: “VAMOS!! Let’s keep pushing.”

Today’s draw represented the ideal result for the Gunners and means the title is ‘in their hands’. If Arsenal are to win their final 10 games, they will almost certainly win the league. Of course, this is easier said than done and City and Liverpool will be more than ready to pounce on any slip up afforded by the Gunners.

Arsenal sacrificed a healthy lead at the top of the Premier League last term and will be desperate to show they have more than enough mettle this time to win their first title in two decades.

WHAT NEXT FOR JORGINHO?

Jorginho is currently enjoying a run in the Arsenal side following a number of impressive performances at the heart of the midfield. The Gunners have work to do on Tuesday to turn around a 1-0 defeat against Porto in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16.
