Liverpool maintained their promising start to the Premier League season with a 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest at Anfield on Sunday.
Diogo Jota put the Reds ahead in the 31st minute when Matt Turner forced a save from Darwin Nunez. Not long after, Nunes got on the scoresheet when he curled a low shot past Dominik Soboslay from close range.
Mohamed Salah added Liverpool’s third goal in the 77th minute, capitalizing on a mistake by Forest goalkeeper Matt Turner to curl the ball into an unguarded goal from outside the penalty area. In doing so, the Egyptian became only the third player in the club’s history to score in each of the first five home games of a season and capped a fine day for Jurgen Klopp.
Liverpool have made seven changes for Thursday night’s game against Toulouse, with only Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ryan Grevenburch, Jota and Nunes keeping their places in the squad.

Two substitutions just before the hour mark brought on Harvey Elliott and Cody Gakpo. The goal came shortly after former Ola Aina scored from behind. Salah fired a free-kick over the bar from a good position, but Forest missed the chance to reduce the deficit when Nicolas Dominguez mishandled Morgan Gibbs-White’s cross into the box.
However, Salah took advantage of Turner’s misjudgment and found the back of the net with 13 minutes remaining after Szobozlai long ball was headed forward. With the keeper out of his area, the Egyptian slotted into the empty net from 25 yards.This was the 10th season out of 11 so far.
He joins Harry Chambers and John Aldridge in achieving the unique feat of scoring in each of the Reds’ first five home games of a season. As Gakpo’s shot narrowly missed the goal, Anthony Elanga headed in under Alisson Becker’s bar to tie the game but Liverpool were beaten.
