Liverpool are hard at work ahead of their game against Bournemouth on Sunday, and young Trent Kone-Doherty has been spotted in first-team training.
The Reds are in a fantastic position right now. They are two points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table, and the aim will be to extend that lead on Sunday. Kone-Doherty could make a surprise appearance on the bench.
Jurgen Klopp calls up Trent Kone-Doherty to Liverpool training
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp hasn’t been afraid to give opportunities to young players this season.
The Reds have had quite a few injury issues, and youngsters like the ‘absolutely superb‘ Conor Bradley have got opportunities with the first team.
That trend could continue in the coming weeks and months, and one player who has now been spotted in senior training sessions at Liverpool is young Trent Kone-Doherty.
The youngster joined the Reds 18 months ago from his hometown club Derry City.
Liverpool Echo claim that Kone-Doherty was spotted in Liverpool’s first-team training session yesterday ahead of their game against Bournemouth this weekend.
The youngster, branded as a ‘tricky and exciting winger’ by Liverpool’s official website, is yet to make his senior debut for the club, and it’s unlikely that will change this weekend.
However, with Mohamed Salah away on international duty, there may be a place for him on the bench after training with the big boys yesterday.
Liverpool have a fantastic academy
Liverpool have been producing a number of incredible young talents over the last few years.
Trent Alexander-Arnold has been the biggest star, while Jarell Quansah has made a brilliant name for himself since the start of this season.
Ben Doak, Bobby Clark and Kaide Gordon are viewed as massive talents, as is young Trent Kone-Doherty, who is one of the most exciting talents at the club right now.
It’s safe to say that Liverpool’s future is looking incredibly bright, and these young players could end up saving millions in the future.
