Jurgen Klopp froze out four stars as Curtis Jones makes honest admission


Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will be watching on anxiously as a whole host of his team turn out for their countries in the coming days.

The Anfield chief has overseen a strong start to the season after overhauling his midfield in the summer and the Reds have already been tipped to challenge for the Premier League title again this term by plenty of people.

Klopp and co’s title credentials will be given a stern test when they face Manchester City in the early kick-off following the international break – but it remains to be seen whether or not the Liverpool boss will be able to call upon all of his players for the crunch clash. The German oversaw a substantial midfield rebuild in the summer transfer window to breathe new life into a squad which failed to live up to expectations in the Premier League last year.

The likes of Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch were all snapped by Klopp, but he also had to bid farewell to a number of club stalwarts in the same transfer window, including Fabinho and Jordan Henderson – the latter of whom even claimed he felt “unwanted” prior to pursuing a move to the Saudi Pro League.
