Jurgen Klopp spoke about Liverpool youngster Kaide Gordon after Liverpool 4-0 win over LASK in the Europa League on Thursday night.
The 19-year-old midfielder was on the bench for the game and did not play, but Klopp was delighted to have him back in the squad.
The teenager has been hampered by injuries over the past 18 months and the club are monitoring his progress closely.
Gordon made four senior caps for the Reds in 2021/22, but a series of injuries halted his progress. But he is back in the team and hopefully Klopp can give him some minutes in the next game.
The Reds manager said Gordon had impressed him and it was a “pure joy” to have him back in training.
Klopp told Liverpoolfc.com after the game:”Sometimes Gordon comes back from a long injury. He’s incredibly durable and looks great in training.
So if we can do something like that, we’ll do it because that’s our job. Because it’s not just lip service .Because we have the opportunity to act and take the next step. “It’s good to see him back in training.
He (Bradley) had his best season with us and suddenly he’s been gone for a long time, so it’s great to have him back.
“TalentAs well as being one of the most successful managers in Liverpool’s history, Klopp’s legacy goes beyond winning trophies.
He has been instrumental in unearthing young talent and it will be interesting to see how the team recovers from this. We are trying to properly develop fantastic talents like Gordon, Jarrell Quansah, Stefan Bajcetic, Conor Bradley, Luke Chambers and Klopp.
And Red booked their place in the last 16 of the Europa League after a huge win at Anfield.
