Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has heaped praise on Jarrod Bowen this week, with some linked with West Ham seeing him hinting at a big-money move in the future.
Jurgen Klopp spoke to West Ham’s Jared Bowen in midweek and told him to “bring the money”. The Hammers star traveled to Anfield for the Carabao Cup on Sunday but saw the Reds run riot after a 5-1 success. Bowen gave West Ham a classy consolation and, as he often did for the London side, he was the man to create moments of magic. Klopp has declared he is his “favourite player” to leave Liverpool, while Michael Antonio says he is laying the groundwork for a potential move. Bowen’s future was recently secured when he signed a seven-year contract at the London Stadium, and the Reds will have to pay a huge price if they want the winger. The West Ham star told Football’s Football podcast: “Jurgen Klopp said before the game that Jarrod Bowen was his favorite player in the league, apart from his own players. I think he’s trying to plant this seed. He wants Jarrod. Antonio added: “He can plant as many seeds as he wants. He just signed a seven-year contract. You can get money if you want. Who will be replaced?
Will he obviously play on the right? Do you have any recommendations here? Let Sala go, okay? Bowen has gone from strength to strength since joining the Hammers from Hull City a few years ago. He is heading for his best ever goalscoring season and is catching the eye of England manager Gareth Southgate.
Liverpool are well equipped in attack with many good names like Salah, Darwin Núñez and Cody Gakpo. If a big offer comes in, Salah will head to Saudi Arabia and Klopp will look to fill a key void up front. West Ham have shown their willingness to let go of their best players for a reasonable fee. Declan Rice was honored at the London Stadium but the club did not stop him from pursuing a new challenge and Arsenal paid a club record fee to sign him. However, unlike Bowen Rice, the Gunners midfielder decided not to sign a new contract. The current Hammers star remains firmly attached and has expressed his love for the club. “Everyone knows what this club means to me, so committing to my future until 2030 is very important to me and my family,” he said when signing the new contract.
