Liverpool faces a potentially very exciting rest of the season and summer in 2024. Jürgen Klopp and Mohamed Salah are among those with decisions to make soon.
Liverpool is well-placed in every competition that it is in this season — and is yet to be eliminated from any that it entered. Yet you only have to rewind 12 months and things looked very different for Jürgen Klopp.
The German brought in four midfielders during the summer and the Liverpool 2.0 that he has been putting together is probably further along the line than even Klopp himself might have imagined at this point. But there are still more pieces of the puzzle to put together and more improvements that can be made.
Whatever happens in the Premier League title race, with Manchester City breathing down Liverpool’s neck and Arsenal and Aston Villa not out of contention yet, Liverpool has made big strides. But what more might happen in 2024?

The big question for me in 2024 is about whether Mohamed Salah sees his future being at Liverpool beyond 2025. There is no reason for that not to be the case but the negotiation will not be straightforward if last time is anything to go by.
Saudi Arabia looked like it might throw a spanner in the works last summer but that is surely a far less appealing prospect now with the way that project has gone. Jordan Henderson is one warning but he isn’t the only one.
Salah loves being at Liverpool and there is no sign of him reducing in a physical sense. By the time his current contract expires, he will still have a number of seasons left in him at the very top level. Even when he does decline, he will still be very useful.
