However, speaking on Sky Sports today, Tim Sherwood has said he’d be more than happy to see Alexander-Arnold in England’s first-choice midfield come the Euros.
Speaking on Soccer Saturday, Sherwood admitted he picks Phil Foden in his starting XI but would be more than happy with Trent as well.
“I’m happy to have him in there. I had Phil Foden because I think he has to be in the team somewhere. But I’m happy to have Trent in there, they’re completely different players,” Sherwood said. “Phil will drive through the lines. I just think that Trent will just find a pass. I mean his range of passing is just unbelievable. If you’re Harry Kane when Trent gets the ball you’re moving, he’ll find you. He gives us a set-piece option as well. I really like him, I really do but he’s only played one game there for England.”
