Roy Keane is starting to question Manchester City’s titles. Roy Keane says Manchester City are starting to doubt their Premier League title after their 3-3 draw with Tottenham.
The Citizens took on Spurs at the Etihad Stadium in a thrilling performance that saw Pep Guardiola’s side go goalless early on and twice throw away one-goal leads.
Son Heung-min gave the away team the first goal six minutes into the first half, Korea deflected the ball three minutes later and scored an own goal, and Man City equalised.
Phil Foden’s goal was canceled out by Giovani Lo Celso in the 69th minute, Dejan Kulusevski equalized in the final minute and Jack Grealish put City 3-2 up with nine minutes remaining.
The result puts Liverpool ahead of Manchester City and Premier League leaders Arsenal, three points ahead of Guardiola’s men.
And former Manchester United midfielder Keane is no longer sure Manchester City will win a fourth Premier League title.”I wouldn’t bet against Manchester City but I doubt they will win,” Keane told Sky Sports.
“There’s a reason they haven’t won four years in a row. Because if you maintain that level, that hunger, that passion, you will have some injuries and some of the best players will come out.”
Of course my focus is on Arsenal and Liverpool, especially Arsenal with their strength, depth and experience from last year.”
Spurs have started the season well but have been hampered in recent weeks by injuries to Mickey van der Ven and James Maddison and the sending offs of Christian Romero and Destine Udogu against Chelsea.
Romero, Maddison and van de Ven are still missing for the game against Manchester City and Keane believes Tottenham are only fighting for a top-four finish this season.
Keane added: “They have to bring back good players. “They started the season well, struggled a bit in the last few weeks but played well. Bring one or two [players] in January as well. “Can we challenge for the top four? That’s a big ask, but I’m very impressed with the manager.
His character now helps the club. His relaxed attitude helps the players. “The top four may be a bit of an exaggeration, but there has been huge progress for Spurs in recent months.”
