KENTUCKY KNOCKS OFF MISSOURI: No. 19 Wildcats Use Balanced Attack, Led by Oweh’s 22 Points, to Take Down No. 15 Tigers 91-83
Columbia, MO – In a thrilling SEC showdown, the No. 19 Kentucky Wildcats used a balanced attack to take down the No. 15 Missouri Tigers 91-83. Led by star forward Oweh’s 22 points, Kentucky’s offense was firing on all cylinders, with five players scoring in double figures.
The Wildcats’ victory marked their second straight win over a ranked opponent, and improved their record to 21-10 overall and 10-8 in SEC play. Missouri, meanwhile, fell to 22-9 overall and 11-7 in conference play.
*A BALANCED ATTACK*
Kentucky’s offense was clicking on all cylinders, with Oweh’s 22 points leading the way. The Wildcats also got strong performances from Oscar Tshiebwe, who added 20 points and 15 rebounds, and Cason Wallace, who chipped in 18 points and 7 assists.
“We had a lot of guys contribute tonight, and that’s what made the difference,” said Kentucky head coach John Calipari. “We’re playing our best basketball of the season, and it’s coming at the right time.”
*MISSOURI’S STRONG EFFORT*
Despite the loss, Missouri gave it their all, with several players turning in strong performances. The Tigers were led by Kobe Brown, who scored 25 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.
“We played hard, but we just couldn’t get over the hump,” said Missouri head coach Dennis Gates. “Kentucky’s a talented team, and they made the plays they needed to make to win.”
