Lakers Star Gets Massive Praise From Kendrick Lamar in Latest Song

The Los Angeles Lakers got a shoutout from Kendrick Lamar in his new song. 

The Los Angeles Lakers have always been big in pop culture. As one of the most recognizable franchises in all of sports, they are a part of life at large, not just the world of sports.

Los Angeles has been that way because they have a history of stars playing for the team over the years. Every year, it seems that they have one of the best players in the entire NBA.

It helps that the Lakers are one of the best teams in the NBA since acquiring Luka Doncic in a trade. With him on the roster, they have become true NBA title contenders. 

Even Kendrick Lamar is giving the Lakers shoutouts. The Super Bowl Halftime performer gave the Lakers a shoutout on Playboi Carti’s most recent album. 

Doncic coming to the Lakers has clearly had a cultural impact, not just an impact on the NBA. HIs addition to the Lakers makes them even cooler.

Having Lamar mention the Lakers in a song underscores the importance of the NBA in hip-hop. There are a lot of players and teams that get mentioned in songs, and now Doncic can add his name to the list.

Doncic is trying to help the Lakers stay afloat while LeBron James is out with a groin injury. He will miss a total of a couple of weeks because of the injury.

One of the reasons why the Lakers traded for Doncic in the first place is because they believe he can carry the load when James is gone. This is his chance to prove that.

That’s what Lamar is referencing with his verse. He is implying that Doncic is a good enough player to carry the weight of the team.

Over the next few years, that’s exactly what the Lakers are hoping he is gong to do for them. He is one of the best players in the NBA for a reason.

So far with the Lakers, Doncic is averaging 26.1 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 7.6 assists per game.
