Leon Osman believes Ibrahima Konate asked Jurgen Klopp to be sent off during Saturday’s game against Everton at Anfield.

Referee Craig Pawson made a big decision when he sent off Ashley Young for two fouls ahead of Sean Dyche’s Everton side after 37 minutes. However, Liverpool and Ibrahim Konate faced contrasting situations in the second half before Mohamed Salah opened the scoring with a free-kick.

The Liverpool centre-back was shown a yellow card when he fouled Beto while Everton was on the scoresheet and was also shown a yellow card when a foul was awarded but no card was issued. Leon Osman was furious as he believed it should have been “10 against 10” and shortly afterwards told Premier League Productions (21/21) that he believed Ibrahima Konate had asked Jurgen Klopp “to let me go “. 23.10. 14.45).

Finally, after an hour, the Liverpool manager did just that, replacing Joel Matip. It was a sign that even Jurgen Klopp knew his player was lucky to stay. Anyway, this is what former Toffees midfielder Leon Osman had to say about the incident involving Ibrahima Konate.

Should Konate have been fired? “I think it should have been 10 to 10,” Osman said. “We are talking about stability and refereeing in the Premier League. “I mentioned that Everton got a yellow card from Ashley Young at half-time. This was similar to Kostas Tsimikas not getting a yellow card and getting one at Konate.”There is no possibility of a counterattack. There you will see him cross his legs and take out Beto. He went into Konate and should have received a second yellow card. As creepy as Ashley Young.”It’s no surprise that Jurgen Klopp made such a difference there. “I can’t believe I got away. “Come on,” said Konate, “let me go before I get my second yellow card.

Can Konate stay healthy? It could be argued that if Konate remains in the treatment room, Virgil van Dijk will have a permanent centre-back in the French national team. His game has a lot of quality and power, but he just hasn’t been able to play consistent games to show it. Perhaps this is one of the reasons why Klopp has seen his defensive performance deteriorate over the past 12 months. But with an improved midfield and the return of Konate, he will be hoping that all changes.
