Liverpool advised to end 22-year transfer wait as Jürgen Klopp told to target ‘real talent’

Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has been advised to consider signing Everton center-back Jarrad Branthwaite in the upcoming January transfer window. Former Liverpool forward John Aldridge believes that Branthwaite, who impressed in the recent Merseyside derby, has the potential to become a leading figure and an England starter.

This potential transfer would break a 22-year drought of players moving directly from Everton to Liverpool. Football Insider linked Branthwaite to the Reds, Manchester United and West Ham during the summer and he is a very exciting young talent. He is also left-footed, which is what Liverpool is looking for.

In the match against Liverpool, Branthwaite showcased his skills despite Everton’s defeat. The young defender, who spent last season on loan at PSV, has quickly established himself as a key player for Everton after initially sitting out the first two matches.
