The Merseyside club will have to spend a fortune to sign the Dutchman. However, it is said that it will not be easy for manager Jurgen Klopp to bring Maatsen to Anfield as Manchester City are also interested in signing him.
Andy Robertson turns 30 next year and with Konstantinos Tsimikas having failed to get the Scot into the first team, bringing in a new left back could be the right move and Maatsen could be a smart signing.
