Liverpool have been linked with a potential move for Bayer Leverkusen striker Florian Wirtz.
The 20-year-old is one of the most exciting young talents in Europe at the moment, with a number of big clubs keeping an eye on him.
Liverpool have now entered the race, with Jurgen Klopp identifying the German as the perfect replacement for Egyptian superstar Mohamed Salah, and has reportedly changed the circumstances of Jurtz’s transfer, according to the Daily Star.
Wirtz could fit Liverpool’s needs perfectly if Salah leaves, but the report also mentions Manchester City as potential suitors for the youngster.
Reports suggest the money needed to sign Wirtz would be £80m and it’s not often you see LFC splashing the cash on a player.
However, an exception should be made at this point, as Wirtz may be a generational talent. Because £80m may seem like a very reasonable long-term investment.
