Liverpool could be ‘set to listen to offers’ for one of their prized attacking stars this summer, according to reports.
It comes as the Merseyside outfit currently have an abundance of talented forwards who can lead their lines.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have been hampered by injuries in recent weeks, with Darwin Nunez, Mohamed Salah and Diogo Jota all being sidelined with injuries, the German manager has placed his faith in several academy graduates.
But the future certainly looks bright for Liverpool, who’s matchday squad for their Carabao Cup victory against Chelsea featured eight academy graduates.
And with plenty of talented stars rising through the ranks, Liverpool could be willing to allow Luis Diaz to leave the club this summer, according to The Sun.
The outlet claims that ‘several spanish clubs are interested in the Colombian forward’, who arrived at Anfield in 2022 from Porto in a £50million pound transfer.
Diaz has featured 35 times for Liverpool this season, returning 10 goals and five assists.
But a move away from Anfield could also depend on the future of Mohamed Salah with much speculation revolving around whether the Egyptian forward will stay or leave the club.
Mail Sport’s Chris Sutton recently called for Salah, whose contract is set to expire in 2025, to give Liverpool fans clarity and end speculation over his future by saying whether he will stay or go.
Liverpool could now enter a transitionary period, with Klopp set to leave at the end of the season and rumours also emerging that former sporting director Michael Edwards could return to the club in some capacity.
Joel Matip, Thiago Alcantara will both be out of contract in the summer, with Virgil van Dijk, Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold’s deals also due to expire in 2025.
Andy Robertson has also emerged as a transfer target for Bayern Munich in recent days, with his contract at the club set to expire in 2026.
That will leave Klopp’s successor with a long to-do list, but whoever does take the reins will have a crop of talented emerging stars to work with.
Liverpool’s academy graduates were the stars of the show for their Carabao Cup final victory against Chelsea on Sunday, with Conor Bradley, Jayden Danns, Bobby Clark and James McConnell all featuring during the match.
Klopp would trust in his academy stars again on Thursday night, with Danns scoring a brace during Liverpool’s 3-0 FA Cup win against Southampton.
