Liverpool are ready to join the race to sign Corinthians midfielder Gabriel Moscardo.

 

Liverpool have identified Corinthians midfielder Gabriel Moscardo as a potential transfer target.

In recent months, the 18-year-old has attracted the attention of some of the biggest clubs in European football and made breakthroughs in his native country.

Despite his age, Moscardo has made 23 appearances for the Brazilian giants, 16 of them in the top flight in 2023.

Moscardo is under contract with Corinthians until July 2026, but could leave the Arena Neo Quimica as early as January.

Moscardo recently addressed speculation about his future, saying he expects interest from the Brazilian at the end of the season.

Clubs such as Arsenal, Chelsea and Barcelona appear to respect the youngster, with Chelsea in particular interested in signing him last summer.

Although Barcelona are said to be monitoring the situation, the Evening Standard claim that Corinthians could be prepared to make a £26million offer, which the Catalan giants cannot afford.

However, according to the same report, Liverpool are also fans of Moscardo and he will likely look to beat their rivals at home and abroad.

Jurgen Klopp and the Merseyside giants have long been interested in Fluminense midfielder Andre, but it is unclear whether they will win the race for his services.

Liverpool are ready to join the race to sign Gabriel Moscardo, Arsenal and Fulham are among those interested in a move for the Brazilian, who is set to leave his current club earlier this year.

Liverpool have made major changes to their midfield ranks this summer with the signings of Alexis McAllister, Ryan Gravenburch and Dominic Szoboslai.

However, Klopp is interested in another front-line striker, with the Blues currently relying on Wataru Endo and injured youngster Stefan Bajcetic.
