Liverpool

Liverpool eye Genoa defensive midfield star Morten Frendrup

The Reds famously underwent a midfield overhaul during the summer, saying goodbye to Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita, James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, while welcoming in a quartet of new signings: Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch.

Despite the £145m outlay on new midfield talent, Liverpool could still be interested in further strengthening their engine room, particularly with regard to the ‘number six’ role.

Mac Allister has been Jurgen Klopp’s preferred option at the base of the midfield in the Premier League so far this season, though debate continues about his most effective position.

Anfield Watch understands that one such player Liverpool have been paying close attention to is 22-year-old Frendrup.
