Plenty to recap on Thursday as a few bits dropped. Notably, Liverpool announced their new kit – but not without controversy. Fans aren’t happy with prices, but the club are adamant that they’re not to blame.

 

There’s plenty of transfer talk, too – you can tell the window is getting closer. Both exits and incomings are being reported as Liverpool prepare for a massive summer.

JOE GOMEZ COULD LEAVE LIVERPOOL

Joel Matip is set to depart this summer after eight seasons with the Reds when his contract comes to an end. As a result, a centre back was no doubt already on the agenda for incoming sporting director Richard Hughes.

 

However, more defensive reinforcements could now be needed. Anfield Watch understands Joe Gomez is open to a fresh challenge and while he isn’t looking to force a move, the 26-year-old has made it known that he would like the club to listen to any reasonable offers.

Liverpool announced their new kit for the 2024/25 season on Thursday. However, whether the kit is actually nice or not wasn’t the top of discussion in the wake of that announcement.

Instead, people talked about the price – and with good reason.

Michail Antonio was a goalscorer during West Ham 2-2 Liverpool, a result which further pierced the Reds’ slim hopes of giving Klopp a second league title of his reign.

He confirms there were words between the pair and claimed that at one stage the 56-year-old even threated to send his star forward back to the bench for a perceived lack of respect.

Salah has been off the boil in recent weeks and, presumably, had been unhappy at starting from the bench against the Hammers and even less satisfied with only getting around 10 minutes to turn the tie around.

 

There’s reportedly talk openly at Liverpool’s training ground that one star could leave in the summer transfer window.

The Liverpool Echo reports that there’s open talk at Liverpool’s training ground that Luis Diaz could leave the club. Diaz has been lightly linked with a move away for some time now.

 

The primary reason for that, though, is Diaz’s father. He’s publicly talked about transfers to Barcelona or Madrid, even claiming that his son is a Barca fan.
