Liverpool FC News Recap: Klopp’s TIRADE, Carvalho’s DREAM & ‘SELFISH’ Salah

Jurgen Klopp launched a scathing attack on TV broadcaster TNT Sports during his pre-match press conference on Friday, claiming he will ‘never watch’ the channel ever again.

The 56-year-old was speaking to the media ahead of Liverpool’s clash with Tottenham this Sunday and, despite the Reds not playing in his much-hated 12:30 BST Saturday kick-off slot or on TNT Sports, he was taking no prisoners when sharing his thoughts on the broadcaster.

“I had a discussion the other day with colleagues from my ‘favourite’ TV channel which I definitely will never watch again, TNT [Sports],” said the Liverpool boss when discussing fixture congestion.

“That they dare to give Thursday, Sunday, Wednesday, Saturday 12:30 is a crime. I was actually waiting for Amnesty International to go to them.”

And Klopp had plenty more to say in an incredible tirade…

After a difficult first season at Liverpool, the former Fulham midfielder has been in impressive form since making the loan switch to Championship Hull City in January.

With nine goals and two assists in 19 second division appearances, the 21-year-old is aiming to impress Liverpool’s next manager in pre-season.

“The way I see it, it’s a fresh start. Not just for me, but obviously whoever comes in,” said the Portugal youth international.

“It’ll be a fresh start for me, and for the likes of Tyler [Morton – also on loan at Hull] as well. We’ve just got to take the chances that come. Really grasp it and take it with both hands”

The German and his No.11 were caught arguing on the sidelines at the London Stadium, although Klopp has now confirmed that there is no issue between the pair.

However, speaking to the William Hill Presents Three Up Front Podcast recently, Souness didn’t hold back when discussing Salah.

“He’s the most selfish player I’ve ever witnessed, Salah,” said Souness.

“Couple of years ago at Old Trafford, [Lisandro] Martinez went through him and the rest of the game he was looking over his shoulder for Martinez. He doesn’t like that side of the game.”

ARNE SLOT ACCUSED OF LACKING ‘CLASS’
Arne Slot Erik ten Hag
Former Liverpool defender Stephen Warnock has accused Slot of lacking class after the Feyenoord boss announced he is set to become the most expensive Dutch coach ever when he joins Liverpool.

When speaking about his desire to join the Reds, Slot had stated that he will earn Feyenoord some good money with his departure – with subsequent reports suggesting a deal will cost Liverpool €13m.

That will make him the fourth most expensive coach of all time when his switch is finalised, but Warnock felt that Slot’s statement lacked a bit of class.

“If I’m being completely honest, I wasn’t so sure about his interview talking about the money that Feyenoord are receiving for him and how great it is for Dutch football,” said the pundit.
