Former Liverpool star Graham Souness has savage Saudi Arabia’s professional league.
The former Liverpool midfielder and manager has claimed that Saudi Arabia’s top flight is so bad he can now play there.
He also noted that fewer than 1,000 fans turned up to watch Jordan Henderson play at Al-Ettifaq recently.”I spent a week in Portugal last week, I was in the gym every day and occasionally watched Portuguese TV during the Saudi Arabian league matches,” he said in his Daily Mail column.
“It was an experience that helped me understand why 696 fans turned out to watch Jordan Henderson’s Al Etifaq lose at home.
“The match was difficult and I really thought, ‘As an older central midfielder, I can play this football for 30 minutes.’ “I’ll prepare it myself!”
