The 24-year-old registered ten goals and four assists in 40 matches for Crystal Palace last season in all competitions, and his performances have led to England boss Gareth Southgate calling him upto the National side.
It is no secret that Jurgen Klopp will look to delve into that transfer kitty in the coming transfer windows and add a few players to the side that will push them on for the remainder of the season. However – despite all the speculation regarding the future of Eze – Hodgson has now come out and sent a clear message to all chasing clubs by revealing that the club are confident that Eze will sign a new contract at Palace.
“I believe the club are working very hard with Eberechi Eze,” Hodgson said. “They are very confident it won’t be too long before they can announce him as well.
“These matters are taken care of by [chairman] Steve Parish and [sporting director] Dougie Freedman, they keep me informed. But certainly, they are optimistic it won’t take too long to get Eze to commit his future as well.” The 25-year-old has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since the 1-0 win over Man Utd, which also ruled him out of Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the games against Australia and Italy last month
