Liverpool return to Premier League action this afternoon when they face Luton Town at Kenilworth Road.
The 2-1 win leaves the two sides 18 points clear when United face Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night. And the last time “Luton” lost 3:1 in front of “Aston Villa”.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said on Friday morning that Luis Diaz will decide if he is fit to play this afternoon.
The striker returned to training on Wednesday after fearing for the safety of his father, who was held at gunpoint by members of the Ejército de Liberación Nacional (ELN) last weekend.
His mother, Silenis Marulanda, was also kidnapped and later released. The “Reds” boss also said that Thiago Alcantara and Ştefan Bajcetic did not return to training after long injuries. Thiago has yet to feature this season as he continues to recover from a groin injury that required surgery in the summer, but Klopp is hopeful he will be back in the new year.
