Liverpool star Alisson Becker has spoken out after an emotional night with one of his team-mates.
Alisson Becker has spoken about Liverpool team-mate Luis Dias after an emotional and confusing night in international football.
Colombia defeated Brazil in a World Cup qualifier on Thursday night, and did so in spectacular fashion.
Brazil led most of the game thanks to Gabriel Martinelli’s goal, but Liverpool star Diaz turned the game around with two goals in four minutes in the 79th minute of the second half, and he did it in front of his father.
At the stadium for a match. Diaz Sr. was recently kidnapped and held hostage along with his wife, who had been released much earlier. Diaz fought to free his father, but good news arrived last week.
Despite his recent ordeal, he made sure his son could watch Thursday night’s match against Brazil. Diaz, the older brother, was emotional as he watched his son score twice, and after the game, teammates rallied around him to cap off an emotional night.
Alisson, who played in goal for Brazil, also hugged Dias after the match and the two hugged and talked a lot for a while. After the game, Alisson spoke of his club mates who supported him, albeit at their own expense.
“I have nothing but good things to say about him (Diaz). He is a friend and a comrade.” Alisson told Globo. “I think he should put football aside for now. He deserves everything. But we are very disappointed with this result.
We dominated the game in the first half, but we shouldn’t have. This is a game where we go home with a 1-0 win. Brazil must do more. You have to win with the game, not the shirt. “I didn’t do enough to win”
