Liverpool will be without Andy Robertson, Kostas Tsimikas and Joel Matip against Arsenal in the FA Cup.
Liverpool brought back Owen Beck from his loan spell at Dundee earlier this month in a bid to ease their left-back crisis.
The 21-year-old will return to Anfield to compensate for injuries to Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas. Robertson has been out since October after injuring his shoulder while on duty in Scotland and will not play for United until the end of this month.
And Tsimikas broke his spine in a 1-1 draw with Premier League rivals Arsenal on 22 December. As a result, Beck, who was in top form for Dundee, appearing in 20 games and scoring 2 goals and 2 assists, was recalled by the Reds for protection.
Liverpool travel to Arsenal in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday (16:30 GMT). But Beck can’t choose. The Wales youth international picked up two yellow cards in Scottish League Cup games against Bonnrick Rose and Inverness Caledonian Thistle last July.
He received a one-game ban but was not sent north of the border. Dundee were knocked out of the League Cup at the group stage, with their Scottish FA Cup campaign not starting until later this month.
As a result, according to The Athletic, Beck’s suspension will be carried over to the FA Cup without pay.
It means Liverpool will be without three left-backs against Arsenal and will be without four defenders, including Joel Matip, for the rest of the season after undergoing cruciate ligament surgery last month.
