And Inacio has been a name linked with a move to Anfield for some time, with the Portugal international regarded as one of the most exciting defenders in Europe.

According to CaughtOffside, Liverpool have now placed Inacio at the top of their January transfer list, with the Reds set to make a move for the Sporting superstar later this month.

Following this update, Liverpool could be the team to beat in the race for Inacio, who could be sold for a move to Merseyside in January. It is clear that Liverpool need this month if they are to make a strong statement in this season’s Premier League title race.

Inacio could be Manchester United’s dream signing as the Portugal international ticks all the boxes for Liverpool to consider a defender this month.

Sporting will have to fight to keep hold of the star defender, but the temptation of Liverpool to move for Inacio could stop him. The sooner Liverpool make a bid for Inacio, the sooner the centre-back can join the squad as the Anfield side lack a central defence.
