The Reds have had many great players throughout their history who have served the club. And most of them were world-class attackers with terrific talents.
One of them definitely has been Michael Owen who became a Ballon d’Or winner while playing for the Merseysiders in 2001. Later in his career he went on to play for Spanish giants Real Madrid. And one of the potential future Ballon d’Or winners might join the club in the summer of 2024. French star Kylian Mbappe will be leaving PSG at the end of this season for free. As per reports, the Anfield giants have emerged as strong contenders to sign him.
Will Liverpool sign Kylian Mbappe? And even though Mbappe will be available for free, they are no longer interested because of his enormous fee structure. The 24-year-old is demanding a deal worth €35M per year after taxation. He also wants to operate on the left wing, a position currently occupied by Vinicius Junior at Real Madrid.
And according to a new report via AS, Madrid will have to offer around €100M as a signing bonus, since the PSG attacker already has ‘more important offers’ on the table. And this is where LFC comes in as a potential suitor.
It is pretty evident that Mohamed Salah will leave Anfield in the coming season and the Reds truly need a world-class forward to replace him. Kylian Mbappe is nothing short of an extremely talented world-class player. So the pursuit of him would look theoretically very good. But it is possible that the Merseysiders are being used here to try to put some sort of pressure on Real Madrid to make efforts to sign the Frenchman.
Realistically, Liverpool should look for options to replace Salah but the pursuit of Mbappe will not do any good for the team.
Liverpool have emerged as a strong contender for signing PSG star Kylian Mbappe next summer but looks very unlikely to actually sign him.
Los Blancos have had a strong interest in the PSG star for a long time, but they have decided to cool their interest in him.
