Liverpool icon Fabinho sent off after slapping Cristiano Ronaldo’s team-mate


Liverpool icon Fabinho was given his marching orders by VAR on Boxing Day after he punched Cristiano Ronaldo team-mate in the face. Fabinho’s Al Ittihad played Ronaldo Al Nasr at the Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Stadium on Tuesday and Ronaldo’s side won 5-2.

However, the match was tight until the hour when it was only decided by Fabinho Ottavio.The incident was initially unpunished, but after a VAR investigation the Brazilian was given his marching orders.

Liverpool fan: “Favinho got a red card today. He’s never been sent off in all his years at Liverpool!””Fabinho in bright red, VAR not looking good all game,” added a second. A third: “Lmao, how’s a red card for Fabinho?” he answered.A fourth said: “Al Nasr got a light punishment, Fabinho also got a red card.” Another added: “It’s yellow at best!”
